Family Matters

I start each morning off reaching my hand out from underneath the same pillow, unraveling my legs from the same blanket, and placing my feet on the same carpet. "So?" you might say. Well, I'll have you know I haven't had the pleasure of being in the same place, let alone MY place, for more than a day in the past three months! My toothbrush is my next target, which I grasp eagerly from my toothbrush holder in my bathroom. I take a shower in my shower, standing on my tile, washing and scrubbing with my soap and my shampoo and shave with my razor. (Getting a bit redundant? Oh, I'm just getting started!)

Little sisters are funny sometimes, aren't they? Meg shares a story about hers.

Home vs. Away

It's weird adjusting to being at home. Meg was laughing to me today about how she has a hard time sleeping in her soft bed, and prefers the floor to a good night's rest. I'm not that far in. She was talking about how all our habits have changed, from being on the road to now.

1. Our eating habits -- On the road, it's greasy Taco Bell, Subway, or a random Mexican restaurant for our daily meals. Not to mention our meals are spread out so awkwardly sometimes. At home, it's waking up in the morning, COOKING OURSELVES some scrambled eggs for breakfast, taking our vitamins, and cutting fresh apples, celery, and carrots to make fresh squeezed juice in my Mom's juice maker. I love to cook, so for dinner or lunch, I'll make my family homemade fettuccini alfredo, or fresh salsa and chips. When we're home, we tend to eat very healthy, and unfortunately, a lot more.

How else is life on the road different from life at home? Dia spills!

Home Sweet Home

Home at last after being away and on tour for almost three months! Meg and I made the long move from Salt Lake City, to Florida. It was only a 40-hour drive...no big deal. Meg and I packed up all our belongings in our two cars. It's kind of funny to see what one will pack in such a small compact space, and what one will throw away or give away. We ended up leaving behind our blankets and pillows, (except mom's special blanket from Korea), microwave, pots and pans, designer table, and decorative golden fruit. I stored my birthday cards and school notes preciously in my cookie jar. I took my old shoes, old jeans that had holes in them everywhere, pictures, paintings from 9th grade, old records, jewelry cases, stuffed animals, and baby blanket. It looked like a car full of junk!

How did the sisters pass the time on their drive? Find out!

Back-Up Vocals and Moving Forward

We are packing up and doing our laundry before we hit this next 11-day tour.

We just got off Warped (almost dead from the heat) and went into the Yahoo! studio to record back up vocals for the band The Rocket Summer for their Yahoo! Who's Next debut. It was really neat. I have never before done back-up vocals for someone so it was really cool... Meg and I were both thrilled when they asked us. We all became pretty good friends with them all. It seemed like our drummer Nick found his life partner -- Tommy, the drummer of The Rocket Summer. Just kidding! But they really did click fast. They seemed like brothers.... two little boys ogling over drums and drum paint and hanging out over some South Park. Silly, silly. Jonathan still sleeps with his stuffed bunny Godzilla, and Carlo still...is Carlo

What's up with Meg & Dia's next album? Find out!

Peace Out, Warped Tour!

Hannah sat counting receipts on her lap from the day's merch sales. As the numbers ran through her head she reminisced with us, conversing on the past two months of craziness. "I can't believe it went by so fast! It seems like we just started Warped Tour!" I took a few moments to think it over myself. Where have all the days gone? What has taken place during our time on the tour?
