Meet Meg & Dia

Hey --

Here we are on Warped Tour! Today, we played Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I was super stoked because the tour bus parking area was right next to catering and our stage. I decided to dress up a little more today, since usually I am spotted wearing a pair of brightly colored booty shorts and a band T-shirt from any of our friends in bands on Warped Tour.

Mo, our tour manager, had a couple friends visiting him on the tour so we all waited in the catering line together. I like when one of us knows people in town. That way our bus is always filled with smiling faces and everyone always has a good time. Anyway, the catering line wasn’t that long. We try to arrive half an hour to beat the rush of hungry musicians. Lunch was Mexican Cuisine. Oh, how I love Warped Tour Catering!

Our set went well. Playing our show is always my favorite part of the day. I love seeing new kids every day rocking out with us. It is one of the greatest experiences to share with strangers.

After we played I went directly to the showers. Showering on Warped Tour is a bit difficult. Usually the shower line goes on for ages. Girls have it better than guys since there are far less females on the tour. I have found the best time to hop in the showers and lather up is before six. Luckily, my schedule leaves me time for this.

After getting clean and relaxing for a bit on the bus I decided to help Hannah, our merch girl take down our merch tent and pack up. While we were packing up a bad and a good event took place. I stubbed my toe. But the awesome event was talking to Bryce from The Rocket Summer. They were a favorite of Dia and mine growing up, and we still are excited to catch their set every day. Bryce asked me about whom we planned to work with on our next record and asked us how we were enjoying the tour. This is kind of silly, but I felt like it was such an honor to have him asking me those types of questions since I respect him and his music so much. He introduced me to his wife, Tara, who was extremely pleasant to talk to. They are such a cute couple!

Before I headed back to the bus I caught the end of the Boys Like Girls set. Since I am close friends with the stage managers, they always let me stand right up front. Lately I have been paying attention to the crowd interaction with the band. Watching other bands is a really great learning experience.

On my way back to the bus, I ran into Shaant from Cute is What We Aim For. We met each other briefly. There was a great surprise at the end of the night. Mo had his friends drive him to Best Buy, and he bought Hot Fuzz. Woo hoo! Movie night!
